Two Months

Dear Jack,

I can't believe it's already been two months since that hellish night sweet day you were born. I always said that all newborns are kinda ugly looking, but I swear you were the cutest!
Jack's first day home from the hospital
You still have your days and nights confused, as I sit here at 12:12am and type, and tonight I tried to lay you down in your own bed to little avail. Maybe in a few more days mama will have more gumption, but for now I couldn't stand to hear you cry for very long.

Your daddy doesn't like to hear you cry either.  He still hasn't figured out what your cries mean, and always assumes that mommy needs to feed you.  He'll learn fast, especially since this weekend mommy will be away.

You love bath time, and so does mom since it helps keep you awake in the early evenings. Tonight I just held your head above water in the big tub while the rest of your body floated. You thought it was the best thing ever and kicked your little feets.

Today was a big day for you. Not only did you turn two months old, but your daddy left with a Therin and came back with a Kylie. You were extra fussy after Therin left this morning and I think you were missing him already. However, today was the first time you met your big sister and she made for a pretty cool two month birthday present. You were so excited when she held you that you crapped your pants. Loudly.

Tummy time is still no fun, but we'll keep working on that. Just like we're working on a more normal sleep schedule, and getting you to sleep in your crib. Everyone loves your smiles, but most times you'd rather just blow bubbles. I'm so excited to see what new things you will be trying next! You are so much fun, my little Jack. I love you!

Love,
Mama

All In A Day's Work

Today Jack helped out in the West Coast Sea Glass studio, but first we had to teach him about sea glass rarity.

That took a lot of energy so Jack decided to take a nap. He opened up Richard LaMotte's book, Pure Sea Glass, for a little bedtime reading; and learned all about where different types of glass originate.

It put him right to sleep!
After a little reading & rest, Jack was ready to start helping!

Social Smiles

Flirting with Amy the Aussie
Lately Jack has started smiling a bit more, which makes his mommy fall even more in love with him. Last night he was quite flirtatious with his Aunt Kirby, which made mommy worry about him liking the older ladies already.

He smiles most while on his changing table...
However, Jack's favorite thing is still snuggling, especially with mom. At least, that's what he lets her think.

Therin's Last Weekend

Therin returns to Montana at the end of the week so we decided to have some fun in the hopes of changing his mind before he goes. Brian took him to Edgeworks for some indoor rock climbing and they had a blast. I made Brian promise to bring me back pictures for the blog since it was a "Big Boys Only" outing (Jack was stuck with mom), and despite them going both Saturday and Sunday, all I have are these lousy cell phone shots to show for it...

Belay On!

Both boys came home with sore muscles.
We also enjoyed a movie night with Calzookies - a Furber family favorite consisting of freshly, almost-done cookies atop ice cream. Thank God for the large packs of frozen cookie dough at Costco.

We're sorry to see T-rizzle leave, but it's been lots of fun having him here. I know we're all sad to see him go, but I'm pretty sure that Jack will cry the most at the loss of his very cool, big brother.

Furber Family Meeting at Coldstone

Immediately following the Furber Family Meeting.
For the next couple months, Brian has a pain in the butt arduous work schedule that has him working way more than normal (sometimes the graveyard shift). Meanwhile, Lindsay is attempting to safeguard hours towards West Coast Sea Glass. Consequently, our Furber Family Meeting consisted of reminding people of their chores, divvying up additional chores and chomping on Coldstone frozen goodies. Not too bad.

Kylie is moving to Washington next month (hooray!) and I'm sure that she is already looking forward to participating in the Furber Family Meetings.

My Besties

People have been posting about their besties so I thought it only fair to share a picture of two of my besties. Here's Old Man Tucker & New Man Jack. I'd love for them to be good friends, but notice how Tucker still won't look at Jack. But, they're getting closer.
